Meet the chef behind Chef Shae Bites Back 🔥
My name is Kashae Quintyne.
Kash always. Shae if you're hungry.
It didn't start with a fancy kitchen. It started with a sink full of dishes and a curiosity that wouldn't quit.
At 16 years old, I got my first job as a dishwasher. Not because it was my dream, but because survival demanded it. One busy service changed everything. The kitchen got slammed, the assistant chef needed help, and I stepped in.
That moment changed my life.
The owner saw something in me before I saw it in myself and invested in my future. That opportunity led me to study Culinary Arts at PomMarine Community College in Barbados, where I began building my chef portfolio and learning the foundations of the craft.
After graduation, I joined one of Barbados' most respected restaurants, Buzo Osteria Italiana, where I worked as a Kitchen Supervisor in an open kitchen environment. Every plate was on display. Every service mattered. There was nowhere to hide, and that's exactly where I learned to thrive.
Then came Canada.
A new country. A new chapter.
While continuing my culinary journey, I challenged myself in a completely different direction and completed a Digital Marketing Certificate at George Brown College in Toronto.
And that's where everything came together.
Chef Shae Bites Back was born from the collision of two passions:
- 🍔 Food
- 📱 Content
Today, Chef Shae Bites Back is more than recipes.
It's Caribbean-inspired creativity. It's pop-ups. It's catering. It's food content. It's bold ideas that don't fit neatly into a box.
Most importantly, it's proof that your path doesn't have to make sense to anyone else — as long as it makes sense to you.
From washing dishes in Barbados to serving my first Toronto pop-up at STACKT Market, this journey is just getting started.
Thank you to everyone who's supported, shared, followed, tasted, encouraged, and believed in me along the way.
Welcome to Chef Shae Bites Back.
Real story.
No apologies.
